The trip scholar was brilliant. His preparation and lectures were top-notch, and his creativity—for example, teaching us how to make squeezes, i.e. damp paper impressions of carved inscriptions—was impressive. Pierre & Susan

Temple World is the UK’s leading alumni and special interest travel specialist, organising a curated selection of scholar-led small group tours for universities, museums and other prestigious institutions each year, to destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and beyond.
Our small group tours are designed to be exciting, entertaining and above all educational, with learning at the heart of every trip.
Each journey is accompanied by an academic or expert who is able to introduce travellers to a deeper understanding of the places they are visiting. We find this attracts a discerning, like-minded clientele who enjoy each other’s company as much as the sites and lectures.

With an average of just 12-15 travellers per tour (and a maximum of 20), our most frequent guest feedback is how special it is to have so much access to our expert trip scholars, and how congenial they found the other group members.
Temple World is proud to be the largest and longest-serving operator of alumni tours to the University of Cambridge. 10% of the tour price on Cambridge University alumni tours goes to the fundraising team at the University of Cambridge per Cambridge alum, friend or family member who books on our tours.

Frequently asked questions
- Q.Are deposits refundable?
A.Deposits are not refundable if you change your mind about travel or cannot travel for personal reasons, such as illness. However, if we have to cancel the tour due to low numbers, FCDO advisory or a travel ban/border closure or similar, you will of course be refunded all monies by us, regardless of whether we can recover them from our suppliers.
- Q.Can I add additional private travel arrangements to one of your group tours?
A.Yes! If you have more time and would like to explore further, you are absolutely welcome to add pre or post tour travel arrangements to one of our group tours. We can advise on the logistics of joining or leaving the tour if not taking our recommended group flights, and our tailor-made department will be pleased to assist with any flights, accommodation or touring that you require so that it all coordinates perfectly.
- Q.Do you accept Credit cards?
A.We accept personal (not business) UK Visa and Mastercard payments up to £1000 per booking for alumni tours. We do not accept American Express, sorry. As we are not allowed to pass the cost of UK card transaction fees to clients by law, we have decided to cap UK card payments at £1000 per booking in order to avoid having to raise prices across the board to accomodate the cost of transaction fees. There's no limit on the amount you can pay using a non-UK card, but please note a 3% transaction fee will apply for cards not issued by a UK bank.
- Q.I am travelling alone. Do you accept singles on your tours?
A.Of course. We are able to accept single travellers on all our tours although in some places where we can only obtain a limited number of rooms we cap the number of single places on offer.
- Q.My wife is an alum but I am not, can I still join an alumni tour?
A.Yes, you are most welcome. Our alumni tours are open to the spouses, partners, family and friends of alumni.
